All too often we question our self-worth and own inner knowing when we choose to measure ourselves with our own past experiences and other people. Dis-empowering ourselves we often measure our future and our own self-worth based on what’s happened to us in the past.
We have all at one time or another allowed our headspace to be filled with thoughts such as Am I worthy? Can I trust in my own inner knowing? Am I good enough? And so forth.
This negative mindset does not serve you, not only does it make you feel miserable, but it becomes a road-block for happiness, inner peace and overall health and well-being.
Truth is, that there is nothing you can do that can diminish your own worth. All your experiences and choices – the good and the bad – the right and the maybe not so right – are all the reasons why you are who you are today.
Yes, just like the rest of us all, you have made some bad choices and mistakes. There are probably things you wish you didn’t do or say. There are probably even things you wish you did say or do. And chances are there are things you wish you could take back and do better.
Just because you have made mistakes does not mean you are not worthy. Just because there are people out there who may deem you unworthy – does not make you unworthy.
In todays meditation we are going to take a journey ‘into the self’, connecting with that place within you that only knows love, peace, self-worth and self-trust.
Becoming self-empowered and having self-worth can happen in a moment. For all the love, healing and wisdom you need has been with you all along, it resides within you as you, and all you need to do is learn how to connect with it.

To begin, make yourself comfortable. You can lie on your back with a pillow under your knees; or sit comfortably, perhaps on a bolster, cushion or a few folded blankets. For additional support, feel free to sit against a wall or in a chair.
If you are lying down, feel the connection between the back of your body and the ground below you. If you are seated, lengthen up through your spine, broaden through your collarbones, and let your hands rest on your thighs (palms facing either up or down).
Once you’re settled, close your eyes and tune into your breath. Notice your breath, without trying to change it.
Notice if you feel tense or relaxed, without trying to change that either.
As you breathe, allow yourself to soften, surrender and settle into a space of stillness. This moment is about you.
In this meditation we will make the commitment to honour the life within us and the journey we are on. We will open ourselves up and see our true self with love and compassion.
Inhaling through your nose. Exhaling through either your mouth or nose.
Bring your awareness to your body. How does your body feel right now? Where is your body holding tension?
Inhaling deeply, slowly and mindfully. Becoming present with the here and now. Allow your body to soften and relax. Breathe into any spaces where you may be holding tension.
Exhaling out – letting go of any tension in your body.
With each breath you are feeling more relaxed. Falling deeper inside yourself, connecting with your inner being.
Bring your awareness to how you feel within. Do you feel emotionally drained or closed off? Where is your mind at? Is it wandering or is it rested within the breath? Is your mind at ease or filled with restlessness, negativity, and doubt?
Inhaling deeply, slowly and mindfully. Becoming present with the here and now. Allow your mind and thoughts to just simply soften and relax.
You are safe. You are anchored. You are loved.
Allow the breath to wash away any negative beliefs or thought processes that are filling your mind.
Exhaling out – your breath is cleansing your mind and thoughts. Letting go of all that no longer serves you.
If your mind wanders at any point, know that it’s okay. It’s the nature of the mind to wander. Simply bring your attention back to the breath.
Inhaling deeply. Falling into a deeper connection with your truest self.
Call on a time where you put the need to be accepted aside and chose to instead honour your own self-worth and inner-truth. What did that feel like for you.
See if you can recall a time where you allowed your truest self to be expressed. A time where you were authentic and living in alignment with your truest self. How did this feel for you?
And now call on a time when you were proud of yourself. What did you do or achieve? How did it feel.
Breathing deeply and slowly. Breathe into the heart space. Place both hands over your heart and allow any moments or situations to arise where you felt judged, not accepted, or treated unfairly. Breathing through these feelings and allowing the emotions to surface.
Forgive yourself for not knowing better. Forgive yourself for letting others tell you how you should feel. Forgive yourself for allowing yourself to become disempowered by the thoughts and opinions of others. Forgive yourself for forgetting your own personal power.
Becoming present with this moment. Becoming present with yourself. Say to yourself I am enough. I’ve always been enough. And every experience that I’ve ever had – as painful, as challenging and as unfair as they may have been, they needed to occur to make me strong and resilient, to make me forgiving, to make me kinder, to make me more compassionate, to make me wiser and to facilitate the greatness of my own potential.
As you breathe in draw in self-love. As you exhale release all that is no longer serving you.
Breathing in. Tell yourself I am here, whole and complete.
Breathing out. Replace negative beliefs with new possibility.
Breathing in. Remind yourself “I am enough. I’ve always been enough.”
Breathing out. Replace old fears with new decisions, new thinking and new ways of being.
You are at complete peace. You are connected to your own personal power.
Bathed in new possibility, and resting in your own wisdom, resilience and self-awareness.
Breathing slowly and deeply. Take a few moments to ask yourself just for today how can I nurture myself. Just for today how can I celebrate the authenticity, creativity, wisdom and kindness within me. Just for today how can I be patient with myself. Just for today how can I love, value and honour myself.
Breathing into your heart centre, visualise your heart opening up like a pink rose. Visualise a pink light pouring into your heart – gifting you with a deep love and appreciation for yourself.
Let the love and warmth of this pink light permeate you from your heart centre, flowing to the rest of your body.
Feel your heart overflowing with love. Your entire being is being filled with love.
Allow a sensation of peace, calm and self-love to fill you from head to toe. Breathe here and know that love is always available for you when you need it.
Taking in a deep loving and nurturing breath. Bring your awareness back into your body and the room that surrounds you.
Bring some gentle movement back into your body by wiggling your fingers and toes. Allow the soft curve of a gentle smile to fall on your lips.
Taking a few more deep, mindful breaths. Say thank you to yourself for prioritising a few moments of self-care today.
Softly open your eyes.
Thank you for joining me in another meditation, I hope that you were able to tune into your own physical and emotional needs. When you honour yourself and practice self-love you build a stronger relationship with yourself and are able to show up more fully in your life.
Sit quietly for a few moments to reflect on the experience you had during this meditation. Come back to this meditation whenever you need to create a loving space for yourself.
Till next time. Namaste
